hi to all.
I'm coding a program.I want make widgets and menu transparent.How can i get it.I have no idea how to get it?Is there anyone know how to get it?Please help me!Thanks a lot!

First, transparent widgets are a style issue. I see no reason why any application should demand them (imagine a user disliking them).

Second, all GTK widgets can be more or less transparent by default. This is how they behave for me. Setting widget transparency globally (e.g. thru Gnome or XFCE global configurations) is enough.

And I don't know how to get them programmaticallly....

Why do you demand transparent widgets, instead of just using the default GTK behavior -which can behave transparently if so configured?

Because not all widgets will be transparent.I just need some of the widgets used in my program.The program is being coded for mobile phone.I want make UI cool

If this will work on your target platform, you'll probably want to do this through theming. Take a look at Resource Files and Tutorials at art.gnome.org

This answer suggests that text tags might be customized as I asked here but I don't see how to acheve such text tag customization. Did I miss something?

Thank you very much! The comments help very much! I saw the news about the transparent gtk theme engine several days ago .But because the new edition does not release, so I don't know how to use it to achieve my goal.
