| Hi, I am interested in programming with gtkmm. I notice that QT has a really nice, and populous, forum over at the qtcentre.org, and I wanted to know if this is the best forum for gtkmm. It really isn't nearly as busy as the qtcentre, but I would expect gtk+ to be just as popular, so... where are all the gtk+ forums? Thanks |

| The thing with GTK+ and Gtkmm is that most people use the mailing lists. This forum is moderately busy and we are always happy to help you with problems you are having though. |

Hey thanks, i just signed up for the mailing list. Of course, for some reason on a mailing list I expect more "why don't you read the manual, jerk"-type responses than a forum run by people who are learning. As far as forums go, I've been really impressed with the patience and co-learning shown in, say, the Ubuntu forums. In a way, fellow beginners can sometimes be more help than experienced but impatient veterans. I expect a mailing list to have more of the latter type.
Anyways, thanks for your reply, and I'll keep this site in mind when I run into a roadblock. |

Also, many issues with gtkmm may be GTK+ related and can we can guide you without expertise in C++. Not to mention the similarities between C and C++.
Before asking in the gtkmm mailing list, you might want to search for your question in the archives or on nabble, an unofficial archive site: http://www.nabble.com/Gtkmm-f1344.html |
