Hi,
I've just installed Fedore Core 6 and am trying to compile gimp-2.3. I have run into a problem while trying to install gtk+-2.10.6, and get the following error during configure:
checking for X... libraries , headers
checking for gethostbyname... yes
checking for connect... yes
checking for remove... yes
checking for shmat... yes
checking for IceConnectionNumber in -lICE... yes
checking for XOpenDisplay... no
configure: error: *** libX11 not found. Check 'config.log' for more details.
All the libX11 libraries (including the static library which is no longer included in FC6 release - I rebuilt from the .src.rpm) are however present. All other up-to-date packages (i.e. glib, pango and gtk+ dependencies built and installed without problem).
Has anyone else come across this problem? |

libX11-devel is installed (or you installed from source)?
Otherwise I can't help you... I'm still running FC5. |

| That's because lack of libxext, actually libxext-dev, not for libX11. |
