I'm curious about this. I've read about it just a little bit. Anybody working in PHP-GTK and have any opinions on it? Pros and Cons? I'm very strong in PHP but typically work in C for GTK. Does it seem to be catching on?

You know, to be quite honest, I didn't even know there _was_ Gtk+ for PHP...

I stumbled across it and it doesn't seem to be picking up steam as quickly as one might expect considering how many PHP developers there are in the world. Perhaps the dependency on PHP for a desktop application doesn't appeal to people.

No, I really don't think so. I use it heavily on my website, but I've never found a reason for it off the web...

After reading http://gtk.php.net/manual/en/installunix.php I decided that getting PHP-GTK running might be quite a hassle. That might be one reason it isn't very popular.

Some (many?) other languages don''t require compiling, and you often don't even need the GTK source. They just use the stock gtk libraries as supplied with most Linux distros. I find that much easier to deal with.
