Has gtk presented anything for drawing different shapes like circle, triangle or rectangle?

Check out Gdk Drawing Primitives, the GtkDrawingArea widget and if you want to get fancy, the Cairo libraries.

Andrew's book Foundations of GTK+ Programming has a chapter on the GtkDrawingArea widget and the sample source code is also availbe at the book's website: http://www.gtkbook.com/
