I'm trying to set a nice dark theme on KDE4 on my laptop, but anything dark gives me this issue:

I can't read this light text. It does this in evolution, rpmdrake, etc. I got a recommendation to try GTK themes, so I installed gtk-chtheme and tried a few dark themes (Tactile, Blueheart, Aero), and the same problem persists, it even does it in the theme menu on the utility. When I pick a light theme the text is dark, but a dark theme it is too light.
Any ideas?
