I'm writing a GTK+3 program in Vala and would like to try the kinetic scrolling added in GTK+3.

I read somewhere that it "just works" (with scrolled-window) if the Device has it's input-source set as touchscreen.
Unfortunately the device says it is a mouse. How can I make it register as a touchscreen? The input-source attribute is read-only.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 and 12.10

This isn't a gtk question as the touch screen will be handled either by x11 or possibly indirectly through at-spi.
Have a look at your x settings, either in xorg.conf or via whatever driver is used by your video card (e.g. nvidia x server settings)
