last summer [July, 2012, I think], I wrote a gtk version of the "gespeaker" utility. setvoice.c let me set the gender, pitch, speed in words/minute, and volume. setvoice.c read and wrote via fscanf and fprintf to a ./config file. its Close button worked flawlessly. I could change the gender by radio buttons and everything else by sliders.

when I tried to integrate setvoice.c into my vbc.c suite and the user selected Options/SetVoice from the menubar, it read and wrote as before. BUT when I pressed the Close button, everything hung up.

I would be very much obliged if anybody on this forum could help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. this bug is among my last, if not my Last Bug.

thanks in advance.

Gary,
I can't seem to find your setvoice.c code. I found gespeaker at google code, but the latest (0.8-1) version seems to be in python only. Could you send a link to where we might find it?
Paul.

This is first to thank Paul. I'm guessing you found my stand-alone program on my server. It is also to everybody else who reads this and has a look at my src files:: I'm hoping that aomebody can fi gure out why the vbc.* stuff bombs.

thanks much.
