I have seen different python-gtk tree and list implementations. I can implement a list using icons (as Pixbuf) as well as a simple treeview using text information only.

What I need is a python code example that implements this:

... which represents a tree with ¨+¨and ¨-¨signs (expand, collapse) and icons in front of every level. So the question is: How can I implement a structure that is a hierarchical tree and has icons at the same time?

Hi and welcome,

I do not know Python very well, so if I was to write something it would be a horrible mess.

Since you know how to use the GtkListStore and GtkPixBuf with the GtkTreeview then using the GtkTreeStore is just and extension to the GtkListStore that would give you what you want.

The Python GTK+ 3 tutorial is at and that shows how to use the GtkTreeStore
