Hi

I am new to gtk programming, I am trying to create a simple gui which has record , play and stop button.

With the record button, I should read from a device file and with the stop button I should stop the reading.

The problem is that when I start recording using a function, the control from the gui just don't work. I mean I cannot press other buttons for e.g. the stop button to call the stop function (as the read function is still getting executed).

Please can anyone tell how to handle this situation.

thanks.

This is the problem of a callback blocking the gtk event handler. Have a look viewtopic.php?f=3&t=55021.
