Hi
I am guess that this probably is not the normal question here or perhaps the best forum? so sorry... but I imagine that someone here can help me, at least point me in the right direction, and talk me though in baby steps... If you can thank you.

So, I have been asked to find a way for a school to give out Linux Mint laptops, and restrict file access to "most" local, we have mounted a network folder to one of the folders.
We have set up a limited kiosk type setup with very limited applications, but require to set the File/Open File/Save chooser dialogue to only show one folder and no other details, under all standard applications such as libreoffice / gimp etc on linux mint.
Can this be easily be achieved? if so which file requires editing? or is it not that simple?

Please go easy...

Hello,

This forum is mainly for programming with the GTK+ graphical tool kit.

I am not sure there is one configuration file that will set a default folder for all the file choosers used in the applications.

What you could do is set up permissions for each user so that you can limit what they can access.
