Hello Admin

Doubt 1: Is there any way to put colored borders around the window (with decoration off).

Doubt 2: Is there any way to prevent moving the window, without setting decoration off ?

Doubt 3: My application is crashing with the following error
(GDR:EROR:gdkevents-win32.c:1649:_gdk_win32_begin_modal_call: assertion failed : !_modal_operation_in_progress))
I replicated this issue with a simple gtk application (no mysql connection, no buttons/events etc), with just combination of hiding and moving the window.

I found few places where this issues has been discussed, but no solution has been provided:
- http://forums.codeguru.com/showthread.p ... itsizemove
- http://www.daa.com.au/pipermail/pygtk/2 ... 19468.html
Seems to be a flaw in the code architecture in this class : gdkevents-win32.c

Please help.

Thank
Sid

Hello,

GTK can not put a border outside of its windows, but you can place a border inside the window which you can have coloured and place all your widgets inside that.

GTK makes suggestions to the window manager about window decorations and placement. These hints are not always obeyed. The function you need to use to set placement hints is
Code:
void                gdk_window_set_functions            (GdkWindow *window,
                                                         GdkWMFunction functions);
Documentation on how you can use it can be found at https://developer.gnome.org/gdk2/2.24/gdk2-Windows.html#gdk-window-set-functions This may not work and depending on what you are doing it may be best to leave the user to be free to move the windows to where they like.

I do not use Microsoft Windows so can not help you with your final problem.
