Hello and thanks for reading my post. This question is in regards to whether or not there is a way to embed a video player into a GTK application. I know there is mplayerembed, but I can't seem to get it to work with windows it comes up with unknown headers. Besides how exactly would that work with mplayer, how would you redistribute it. Well anyway that's not the point, the point is, what do you guys do when you want video playback in your applications?

Just in case anyone wants to know, what I am wanting is a non-static (where you can select chapters and such, not just dull playback) video embeddable widget for GTK+. So that users can check out video structure from within my application.

You can embed a video player like mplayer into a gtk+ application using plug&socket.

They other way is to use gstreamer or clutter.

P.S.
What i'm using this for is a DVD player of sorts, that can skip from chapters and titles. For that purpose which would you recommend?

For windows i have no idea but i could name a hand full of library's for Gnu/Linux.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah it sucks that windows only have things like directshow. I need the program to be cross compatible, but couldn't I just recompile the linux libs to windows with msys and mingw?
