how is the best way to create an image that is the sum of two images?

I've got two images(pixbuf) and two masks(pixbuf), i want to mask each of the images and then add the two masked images together to create one combined image of the 4 input pixbufs.

what is the best commands to use for this?

Thanks
Sampson

There are a ton of GdkPixbuf functions to do this type of this. Here is where you can start: http://library.gnome.org/devel/gdk-pixb ... -composite
