Environment: Windows XP, Glade 3.14.2.

Hi. I'm brand new to Glade, but wanted to try to use it to write an alternative GUI version of our Perl/Formbuilder application. I was going through this tutorial...

http://www.linuxforu.com/2010/08/progra ... -and-perl/

...when I came to where the writer wanted me to use a table container. My version of Glade does not seem to have one of these. Has it been deprecated? I'm running a just-downloaded copy of 3.14.2 for Windows.

Hello and welcome,

Glade v3.14.2 is aimed at GTK+ v 3.x and GtkTable has been deprecated since version 3.4 so is not included in Glade. The replacement is GtkGrid. Its use is more consistent with the rest of GTK and should give you a similar result although you will need to do some work cross referencing the API. If you really need GtkTable and are OK to drop down to GTK+ 2.24 then you could use Glade v3.8 (I think this is the last to support GTK+ 2.xx)

Well, I tried to delete this post. I installed an earlier version of Glade and discovered that the table container was called "Grid" in the later version that I had. So.....
