Hi,
I am facing a following error while compiling gtk+ 2.24.19 after running configure script.
Quote:
Making all in demos
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/power/arief/gtktest/productionpkgs/gtk+-2.24.19/demos'
no --raw --build-list \
apple_red ./apple-red.png \
gnome_foot ./gnome-foot.png \
> test-inline-pixbufs.h \
|| (rm -f test-inline-pixbufs.h && false)
/bin/sh: no: command not found
make[2]: *** [test-inline-pixbufs.h] Error 1

In Make file of demos folder
I see the following line which has "no" command
Quote:
GDK_PACKAGES = pango pangocairo gdk-pixbuf-2.0
GDK_PIXBUF_CSOURCE = no
GDK_PIXBUF_LIBS = -L/usr/local/lib -lgdk_pixbuf-2.0 -lgobject-2.0 -lglib-2.0

I am not sure what is GDK_PIXBUF_CSOURCE and what has to assign in this variable.
Looks like something is missing in configuration.

In config.log I see
configure:22126: checking for gdk-pixbuf-csource
configure:22163: result: no

please let me know what is wrong.

Commented the following lines in gtk+-2.24.19/demos/Makefile
Quote:
$(GDK_PIXBUF_CSOURCE) --raw --build-list \
apple_red $(srcdir)/apple-red.png \
gnome_foot $(srcdir)/gnome-foot.png \
> test-inline-pixbufs.h \
|| (rm -f test-inline-pixbufs.h && false)

also commented some lines in gtk+-2.24.19/demos/testpixbuf.c
Code:
               /* Test loading from inline data. */
//                pixbuf = gdk_pixbuf_new_from_inline (-1, apple_red, FALSE, &error);
//      if (!pixbuf)
//        {
//          fprintf (stderr, "failed to construct \"red apple\" pixbuf: %s\n",
//               error->message);
//          g_error_free (error);
//        }
//      else
//        new_testrgb_window (pixbuf, "Red apple from inlined RLE data");

//                pixbuf = gdk_pixbuf_new_from_inline (sizeof (gnome_foot), gnome_foot, TRUE, NULL);
//                new_testrgb_window (pixbuf, "GNOME Foot from inlined RLE data");

with these changes my build moved out of error and got a successful build.
Now i can see the example program running in my target.

But when i try to run my application which is using glade file to load the GUI, i am getting an error in gtk_builder_add_from_file call return.
code get compiled without error but throws error while running.
the code is as below
Code:
  //Initialise GTK+
    gtk_init( &argc, &argv );

    //Create new GtkBuilder object
    builder = gtk_builder_new();

//Load UI from file. If error occurs, report it and quit application.
    if( ! gtk_builder_add_from_file( builder, "tested.glade", &error ) )
        {
            g_warning( "%s", error->message );
            g_free( error );
            return( 1 );
        }

I am getting the error in target and application comes out.
Quote:
WARNING **: Invalid object type `GtkWindow'

looks like gtk builder is not reorganizing the GtkWindow object which is in glade file.

Any help?

Hi
Combination of Glib 2.34.3 with GTK 2.20.xx or grater version has a problem in loading gtk objects using gdk builder api.

So please use Glib 2.34.0 for your up coming projects with any GTK 2.20.xx or greater version.

Not sure what is the problem in glib 2.34.3.
