I have read that GTK+ does not support OpenGL acceleration for its UI components (not an issue for me), but is it possible to have a subwindow in a GTK+ framed application serve as the target for OpenGL rendering? I think those are different points entirely, but at first I think I misinterpreted the former to mean that you can't use OpenGL and GTK+ in tandem. I am interested in creating a GUI application with a code editing subwindow alongside a preview subwindow (with OpenGL rendering the preview).

If this is possible, does anyone have a good reference/open-source example application I could look at? I know nothing about different GTK versions/variants at this time. I would prefer to create the application under Linux initially.

Thanks.

Well, based on what I've read so far, I think the answer is "yes, you can do that."

Will report back when I have an early GUI skeleton for my application.

Thanks.
