Is there a readymade gtk widget that will provide a commandline interface? I'd like to be able to have something that acts similar to bash, e.g., user could rerun the fifth command with "!5", interactively bring up third to last by hitting uparrow a few times. The exact details aren't crucial, I'm just hoping someone can point me to something with common console features.

I did find an sql console which I could adopt, but if there's a readmade plugin, I'd rather use that.

I'm programming in plain old c, if it matters.

Thanks,

Levin

Most applications use VTE for their embedded terminals in GNOME and GTK applications. Check out http://developer.gnome.org/arch/gnome/widgets/vte.html
