FlashMenu is a generic, customizable menu system. It can be configured to do a number of tasks: act as a front-end for command line applications, serve as an application launcher, and other things.

Here's the link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/flash-menu/

I'm currently working on the documentation but if anyone wants to test and give feedback, that'd be fantastic. On sourceforge I've supplied compiled packages for Windows and OpenPandora, and the code compiles on any system with a C++ compiler and GTK+ 2.

This forum has been a great help to me. I've been able to find the answers to most of my questions either in reading others' posts or by asking questions myself.

Sorry about that. Since this is beta, I haven't added in any default settings yet (so without a configuration, it crashes on startup).
You can download source + config here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/flash-menu/files/FlashMenu%20(source)/?
It only includes a simple configuration (the only item type included is "Command"). Since this is intended to be something only for people bundling it with other software and advanced users, much of the configuration is done through the files. I'm not done writing the docs but you can scroll through the unorganized documentation here:
https://sourceforge.net/p/flash-menu/wiki/browse_pages/
For the best overview, look at the Windows tutorial (it would require only slight modifications to work on a Linux system).
